Laguna Beach City Council
RE-ELECT
Who’s Fooling Who?

If you follow the money that is paying for the mammoth No On Q ad campaign, you will see that it leads to developers and those who stand to profit from the overdevelopment of Laguna Beach. They will say and do anything to misinform the public and keep voters from having a say in the development of their own hometown. They love the idea that only developers, commercial property owners and the City Council members they have funded will be the only ones who control the development of Laguna.
40.4% of Sept 25-Oct 22 donations to Blake (the developer owned Council Member par excellence) is coming from commercial development investors and 45.5% of that money is coming from OUTSIDE Laguna Beach, you must question what's in it for them?
But, the candidate with the biggest commercial development donations at 44.5% is Louis Weil, followed by Kempf with 42.39%. At $270,000 in total donations to all candidates, this is an expensive race---and, these donation numbers do NOT include the money spent by the PACs on their own. What do all these "investors" have in mind for little, ole Laguna Beach?
The answer is they are spending to get three of their four pro-development City Council candidates re-elected to maintain their majority on City Council - the same voting majority that has allowed them to grant variances related to building size, height, intensification of use, and parking requirements.
The misinformation, false statements and outright lies being told to the public regarding Measure Q are deliberately designed to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt. But one thing is for sure - without Measure Q, developers will have a free hand in overriding building standards that will forever alter the character of Laguna Beach – diminishing its charm and promoting more tourist- and traffic-related problems.
Do not be fooled by those who say don’t be fooled.
Vote yes on Q and help save Laguna
Bonus Feature from a post
by Justin Drucker:
Laguna: It is time to vote! We have an opportunity to kick Peter Blake, and his bad, potentially illegal behavior, to the curb. Its high time to restore decency to the city council. Whether its personally insulting constituents (He's called women the C-word, made fun of someone else for going through chemotherapy), or even worse illegal dealings with the very developers who fund his campaign - he has got to go! Peter and his Daddy Warbucks, Mohammed Honarker, have turned our little paradise into a national laughingstock.
Regardless of the hot debate and eventual outcome of MEASURE Q, we must come together to remove Peter, and to a lesser extent, his biggest enabler, Sue Kempf from city hall. Most agree that the CC has become a 3 Ring Circus and we have Mohammed and Peters "Vision and Gift for Laguna" to thank for that. SuperPACs ran by millionaires and developers have given Peter a mountain of funds recently($70k!!) to maintain the madness at city hall. All of this so they can continue to carve away at our town, sow division, and make the big bucks.
I'm proud to support MARK ORGILL for City Council. Mark specifically has done a lot of good for our community over the last 30 years, is experienced with the goings on at CC, and is an independent thinker. With a fresh CC we can finally address our towns current and future issues in a meaningful way, as well as, preserve out local heritage and culture that we all love so much. I urge everyone else to vote for Mark, as well as, Jerome Pudwill, Louis Weil, Alex Rounaghi, or any of the fine new candidates that aren't Peter Blake or Sue to fill our 3 seats.
I’m saying NO to the incumbents. Final note, aside from communicating directly with the candidates, the best way to make an informed decision is to FOLLOW THE MONEY...it’s an eye-opening experience, especially on our local level. Vote for real local, independent minded candidates who want the job for the right reason; They love Laguna! Thanks for listening and I hope everyone has a beautiful Saturday :)
